Yuqori o'tkazuvchan filtr kesish chastotasidan yuqori o'tkazuvchanlikka ega, ya'ni bu chastotadan o'tadigan signal deyarli ta'sir qilmaydi.Chiqib ketish chastotasi ostidagi signallar filtr tomonidan zaiflashadi yoki bloklanadi.

Yuqori chastotali filtr past chastotali signalning kesish chastotasidan yuqori chastotali signalga nisbatan zaiflashuv darajasini ifodalovchi boshqa zaiflashuv tezligiga ega bo'lishi mumkin.
